Are you a Ship Mom?

Got pregnant while working on cruise ships with a fellow crew member?

The Ship Moms Project wants to hear your story!

Some Ship Mom stories include:

Janete from Brazil, conceived her child with a man from Haiti, but did not know that she was pregnant until she went into labour onboard. Her water broke as she was airlifted from the vessel in a basket by a rescue helicopter 400 miles and a four-hour flight from the hospital.

Margarita from Peru got pregnant onboard after a crazy night with a man from Spain in spite of him being gay. They live together in Spain with their son but are not together, forcing her to start from nothing, and to be dependent on someone who is not her true partner.

In 1994 Arlene from Northern Ireland was pregnant onboard with a man from Trinidad when she found out he had a secret family back home. In her 20’s she single handedly raised their mixed-race son in her tiny rural catholic community, of 400 people.

Erika from the United States and her husband from the United Kingdom are raising their 3-year–old son on cruise ships. They got stuck onboard due to the Covid-19 pandemic locked down in a cabin with a toddler for 20+ hours a day for many months begging to be let back on land.

LeeAnn from South Africa, and the father from India, were engaged and living happily onboard until she found photos of him and his wife whom he married on vacation. She was even more shocked to find out she was pregnant with his daughter after they broke up.

Tanya from Australia is in love with the Nepalese father of her two daughters. They randomly conceived twice on the same ship four years apart. Meanwhile, he has a wife and family back home that know about the girls but they just don't talk about it.
